Are you so physically and emotionally drained you're crying?
Hi, .
Hindi ko na matandaan kung paano ko nakilala si Sheila. But like Ce and Eloi, Sheila is responsible for making sure that my podcast episodes are promoted. But like Ce, Sheila also has an OFW heart-tug story. It's not her husband (pero may waiting in line na, yihee!).It's her.I'll let Sheila tell you her story.
"'SHE’S FADING AWAY!
She needs to be transferred to the dialysis ASAP!'
That was my senior nurse, giving me the endorsements.
Patient lines were off, she was pale and barely breathing.
Nurses were scarce at that time. I’m receiving the shift all by myself! Oh God! 😢😢
And yes, that moment was one of the many many life-threatening scenarios I’ve been in.
I was an OFW. A surgical nurse in Riyadh.
For a few years, I loved what I was doing.
Until one night I cried.
I was so drained physically and emotionally.
Nurses were leaving and every ward was left with a single nurse to do the job every single shift.
I realized that I couldn’t stay with this situation any longer.
And it got me thinking: Would there be a different life for me if I leave this profession?
I was in doubt for a while but I thought of the time consumed just staying there.
I asked myself: Is it worth it?
And I did it! I went back home to my family.
I know my family was disappointed with my decision but I love it here.
I started exploring life in the digital world.
I entered internships and studied social media management for two years until I was becoming a certified “tambay”.
I remember asking my father to support me while I’m still looking for a client. Yeah, that was kinda shameful.
One night, my mentor, Ann, messaged me and was told that she’ll refer me to a client!
That was back in 2017.
Until I met Nix Eniego online, where I was introduced to Social Media Academy.
Fast forward to today I am now one of the SMA counselors.
As a content creator for many years, there's one thing that always brings me back to the foundation of my career. It's understanding learning never stops. Do you agree?
It allowed me to discover new and emerging apps in the industry that I can use to create engaging and meaningful content. It also gave me the opportunity to learn new skills so I could keep up with the demands of my clients."
Do you know someone like Sheila, who all he or she does is cry over a situation that he or she could get out of?Are you someone who, like Sheila, never stops learning? That along the way, as you learn the skills and tools of the trade, want to meet better people? And if you're like Sheila who's finding a way to earn more, and who continues to seek new tools that you can add into your arsenal to keep up, then tomorrow is your day.
Tomorrow, Sheila will teach you a tool that when she taught me, ang nasabi ko na lang. "Wowza! Libre ito? Totoo? Sheila baka niloloko mo ako ha? Hindi? LIBRE? Libre talaga? Oh wow! Let's teach this, dali!!!"Ce and Eloi of Valuepod Productions, on the other hand, will teach you a skill that would up your podcasting skills. Gusto mo, yes?
