Kommunity KwentuhANN invite

How was the last week for you?

Hi, .

Kumusta ka?

Grabe ang daming nangyari last week.

The first week of the enhanced community quarantine (kung taga-Quezon City ka, ang tawag d’yan ay extreme enhanced community quarantine. At sake gusto mo nang tumira sa Pasig. Hahaha.)

If you are already a full-time virtual professional like me, you know that staying at home is no longer a big deal for you. But for me, it is. For one, I had to make sure that my brother (who works in DOLE) is adjusting well to working from home.

But thanks to the special kwentuhan that Jomar organized in his Facebook Group, I was able to learn from other people. We answered questions like what do we feel about what is happening, are we afraid, ano ang current situation sa respective areas namin, at marami pang iba.

I was grateful I attended that kwentuhan via Zoom. Let me give you the reasons why:

  1. For the first time, nai-voice out ko ang fears ko. I am afraid for my parents, who are 82 and 64, respectively. Based on facts, favorite sila ng virus. My brother and I do our part, like washing our hands and maligo agad kapag lumabas, and disinfect every part of the house that hold (doors, switches, etc.) For everything else, double the prayers. Pero 'yun ang first time na nasabi ko sa iba 'yung concern ko.

  2. I was able to establish family habits. Speaking of prayers, for the first time in many years, sabay-sabay kami ulit nagpi-pray ng Rosary. We now pray it every 8 am, Oratio Imperata every 8 am and 7 pm, at Sunday Mass (live stream). May family movie night din kami every Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. If not for the stay-at-home directive and Jomar's suggestions, I don’t think we’d get to do these things.

  3. With Jomar’s Zoom kwentuhan and his work-from-home playbook, I was able to have a special Facebook Live to help 8-to-5 employees adjust to working from home set up. I thought of doing it alone first, but then, Niño Natividad suggested that we use OBS and Restream. All of a sudden, I saw myself asking friends if they could share two work-from-home tips. At bigla ko na lang nakita ang sarili kong nagpi-PM kina Ginger Arboleda (Manila Workshops), JP Espino (The Digital Architect), and Jomar, asking if they could join my live broadcast!

Nasa Facebook pa din ang broadcast, pero nasa YouTube at Pin To Top na din.

Post-broadcast, I saw Rey Baguio, JP, and Fred Mosquida talking about how they could help more employees to “digitize” their profession or work. Na-trigger daw sila sa ginawa ko.

Kaya I want to return the favor.

I am inviting you to my Kommunity KwentuhANN on Tuesday, March 24, at 2:00 PM via Zoom.

This is your free invitation to get to know who's getting the emails like you. I have a feeling you know each other, but this could be the first time you'd be seeing and hearing from each other.

Share how has this situation affected you and your family.

Share your thoughts and even your fears.

Yes, you would need to speak. I assure you, this is your safe space. Kahit umiyak ka ok lang. Hindi nga lang kita maabutan ng tissue pero a listening ear would do. (Hug pag tapos na ‘tong quarantine.)

No slide presentation. All listen mode. Simpleng kwentuhan lang. No strings attached. Here's the Zoom link for the 2:00 PM Kommunity Kwentuhan. Pwedeng kumain ng meryenda habang nakikipag-kwentuhan.

This kwentuhan would benefit your mental and emotional health. I know. Jomar’s kwentuhan did it for me.

See you on Tuesday, yes?

You’re exceptional,

Ann KristineNuclear Power Plant of HappinessP.S.: I will announce the Five for Five Winners sa Kommunity KwentuhANN.
