What's your PERSONAL LEGEND?

As you know, I used to co-host a podcast for jovial and amazing Filipino Freelancers.

If you’re listening to the show, you know by now that we stopped publishing new episodes last July 31, 2017. We talked about why we’re ending the show on our last episode.

You may ask: Aren’t you enjoying what you’re doing? Why stop?

YES. I loved the show. Becoming a radio DJ is one of my dreams.

Bata pa lang ako, exposed na ako sa radyo. Paggising ko sa image bago pumasok sa school, nakabukas na ang radio, nakatutok sa AM na istasyon.

Kaya noong college, itanong n’yo kung saan ako nag-OJT? Yes, in an AM radio station.

So imagine how surprised I was when we started The Joy and Ann Show. Hindi lang ako ang host - ako pa ang co-producer at co-creator!

But why stop?

I won’t say it’s because of Joy’s parenthood duties. If I say that, it means your dreams stop the moment you have a family. I don’t believe that. I respect Joy’s decision to see her child grow.

We stopped because we know that there are better things coming. For Joy, for me, for our listeners.

Sometimes, you are happy where you are right now. But you know that you have not achieved your ultimate dream.

If you have read Paulo Coelho’s “The Alchemist” (love 100x the book), the protagonist on the novel was a shepherd. Yet his Personal Legend is not about becoming a shepherd forever.

He also sold crystals. But he also knew in his heart that that becoming a merchant is not his Personal Legend.

So yes, I have achieved my dream of becoming a DJ (I got more than that). But I know I need to keep moving on to my better dreams.
